Online giving lets you make one-time contributions or to set up a schedule of automatic donations at your convenience.  By setting up a password-protected profile, you will be able to log in at any time to make donations, set up a recurring giving plan, change a recurring donation plan or view your personal giving history.

What is a tithe and how is it different from an offering?

The word, “tithe” literally means tenth or 10%. A tithe is the first 10% of your income. An offering is anything you give above and beyond the 10%.

Why do we tithe?

The Bible says, the purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives.  Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is also God’s personal invitation to an outpouring of his blessing in your life.

In Malachi 3:10 (NIV), God says this: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” This is the only place in Scripture where God tells us to put him to the test. In other words, he’s saying, “Go ahead. I dare you. See if you can out-give me.”

Is God wise? Do you trust him?

These are two fundamental questions behind the act of giving. If God is wise, then you should listen to what he says about financial stewardship. If you trust him, then you should trust him with all aspects of your life, including your finances. So go ahead. Accept God’s invitation to put him to the test. Start tithing faithfully and watch what he does in and through your life.

FAQ

Q: Who should give online?
A: Anyone who is looking for a simple way to assure their giving.  Anyone who wishes to give to Metro Church either one time or on a recurring basis.

Q: Is online giving secure?
A: Yes! For your protection we have taken steps to ensure that the security of all financial transactions is assured. Credit card and bank processing is accomplished using secure processing services. Your data is encrypted when transmitted. Our system uses 128-bit encryption which is the strongest and most secure form of encryption that is generally used by most web browsers.

Q: What about privacy?
A: The online giving registration form requires you to give us contact information (like your name and email address), and demographic information. Metro Church will not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. This information is stored in your file in a secure environment separate from our website.

Q: When are gifts processed?
A: You will choose the date your gifts are to be processed.

Q: What if I’m not a member of Metro Church, but I want to make a donation. How will I be able to get a statement for tax purposes?
A: We are happy to receive your gift! Online giving is a perfect way for you to give. All givers will receive a contribution statement regardless of membership status, assuming we have your correct address information.

Q: What if I want to cancel or change my online giving?
A: You may do so at any time.

Q: Will my online gifts be included in my Statement of Contribution
A: Yes, they will be included.

Q: Can I view my past giving history online?
A: Once your gift has been processed, you may view your giving history online. History will be available after your account has been verified by the office if you have setup a new account.
